Foamboard D Series – Effective Thermal Insulation in Inverted Terrace Roofs
Foamboard 2000 D, 2500 D, 3000 D and 3500 D series are extruded polystyrene (XPS) boards with a flat surface. These boards are used in inverted terrace roof applications to provide thermal insulation by placing them on the waterproofing membrane.
Application Areas
- In underground external wall insulation, Foamboard boards are used together with waterproofing membranes.
- In these walls, first the surface is smoothed and plaster is applied, then the waterproofing is completed and the Foamboard boards are placed freely on this layer.
- If the waterproofing is done with PVC membrane, a separator layer such as geotextile felt must be placed in between before the Foamboard boards are placed.
- If the application is carried out simultaneously with the pressure wall and soil filling, there is no need to glue the boards.
- In garden terrace roofs, the layers are applied in the same way as in terrace roofs where no walking is allowed. The filter element is placed on the gravel layer and then the plant soil is laid to complete the application.
