Bituminous membranes are waterproofing materials that can be used in almost every area to prevent water from seeping into structures. They are safely applied especially in areas such as walls, foundations and floors that are in contact with the soil; as well as external walls, balconies, terraces and sloping roofs where water may accumulate or be affected by pressure, as well as wet areas such as bathrooms, kitchens, sinks and WCs. In addition, they are preferred in structures that are constantly in contact with water such as water tanks and pools; and in applications depending on ground characteristics such as retaining walls, artificial ponds and concrete channels. Bituminous waterproofing membranes offer economical and aesthetic solutions to many details that require waterproofing.
Layers:
It adheres strongly to the surface it is applied to, provides high adherence and maintains this feature for a long time. In this respect, it is especially advantageous in foundation curtain insulation. It can be easily applied on different surfaces such as wood, concrete and metal. Thanks to its high transverse and longitudinal tensile strength, it maintains its elasticity against structural movements and expansions. It does not melt or flow in hot weather, and does not crack or break in cold weather. It can be easily applied with a torch flame; it can be cut and used in the desired size with special cutting knives. It easily adapts to details such as dilatation joints, concrete stream slopes, parapet turns, chimney bases. When applied correctly and sufficient protection is provided, it can maintain its durability throughout the life of the structure.
